I sat here for awhile trying to remember what all I’ve got planted out in my yard right now (besides maple tree seedlings by the thousands, dandelions, creeping charlie, and violets).
Edible Plants
Grapes, raspberries, blackberries (I think that’s what it is – I don’t remember what I put there!), purple bell pepper, green bell pepper, jalapeno, cayenne, early girl tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, asparagus, strawberries, three kinds of bush beans, two kinds of pole beans, cucumber, watermelon, rhubarb, two kinds of eggplant, spearmint, cilantro, chives, lemon balm, and kale.
Ornamental Plants
Geraniums, ferns, phlox (the creeping/falling over kind), a silver ground-cover thingy, hostas (dozens; half dozen or more of different kinds), honeysuckle, grasses (various), lilacs, peonies, two kinds of lamium, vinca, another yellow flowering ground cover, six different kinds of coleus, impatiens, a red spikey flower, marigolds, a red swizzle-thingy (no idea what it is, but that’s what the tag said), dianthus, garzania, african daisies, a bunch of heliotrope, white daisies, and petunias planted (some perennials are from previous years).
Plans
Between now and early next spring I want to get in a bunch of sunflowers, more daisies, tulips, garlic, potatoes, peas, carrots, onions, more honeysuckle, blueberries…. I’m putting in a faux “living fence” by putting circle holders on my fence with terracotta pots. Probably 15-20 of them. They’ll be full of herbs that can come inside when winter comes. I’m trying to figure out what all will go in the pots (some will be big and some will be smaller). Definitely basil, oregano, lavender, lemongrass, cilantro, parsley, dill…
What else am I missing?!

Radishes, an apple tree and of course at least one pumpkin.
Huh. Good call. I don’t have a pumpkin planted. We do want to put in two dwarf apple trees (the only place the trees could go has a power line that runs about 20 feet above the ground) sometime soon. AND I DEFINITELY NEED RADISHES!
