Choosing to Live Life Simply and Happily

Aaron’s Thoughts on Marriage

Enjoying some post-wedding champagne by the sea.

I am one of the lucky ones.  This I know.  Three years ago today I married a woman who is funny, beautiful, honest, caring, faithful, and intelligent.  What more could I want?

I am thankful that I have a lifetime left to explore this one amazing woman that swears that she loves me.  I have someone to experience new things with, to lean on when I need it, and to confide in when there’s no one else.  A partner with whom I can learn about the world, from whom I can learn about a different point-of-view, and through whom I can learn about myself.

My wife is the woman who is there for me even when I’m not with her.  She’s the one who gives me reasons to work so hard.  She gives me a greater purpose and I’m thankful for that.  Would I be able to live without her?  Yes; I did it for 23 years before we met.  However, without her, I know that my life would be less rich, less colorful, and certainly a lot less exciting.

So, what more could I want?  There is only one thing that I want.  Whatever it takes - no matter the cost - I want my wife to know and understand that she is more than just what the Army built her to be.  In addition to those outstanding core values, she is also:

Funny.

Beautiful.

Honest.

Caring.

Faithful.

Intelligent.

And she is all I’ve ever wanted.  Happy 3-years, Emerald.
